The Elkins Pointe History Society- est. 2010

The Elkins Pointe Historical Society was established to stimulate, promote and further the accumulation of historical knowledge of Georgia’s local history, to promote responsibility and leadership skills among its members, and to assist the Roswell Historical Society to identify and preserve the historical landmarks in Roswell, Georgia. It is our hope to provide an organization for students to enjoy history (without tests and lectures ;-) while giving back to the community. Our current community service project is the Old Roswell Cemetery off of Woodstock Road in downtown Roswell. We have worked to clean headstones, clear brush and debris, mark unmarked graves, and decorate the graves of Roswell's military and civilian heros. We're not all community service...we like to have fun too. The Elkins Pointe History Society has several trips planned for the year including Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield, the Roswell Ghost Tour, and the Carlos Museum at Emory University (mummies, anyone?)...in the past, we have done the Roswell Walking Tour, the Atlanta History Center, and Bulloch Hall. Please join us for fun and history. If interested, please see Mr. Wilson for an application.
